Camera Bag On Order

I decided on the LowePro Slingshot 350 AW camera bag for the new Nikon. It will also allow me to carry my laptop around when we go back and forth to the Okanogan house.

It's larger than the 200 AW I looked at in Best Buy. I do like the functionality of the Slingshot but I just hope the weight of the camera and laptop combined aren't too heavy for a single strap vs. the dual straps of a true backpack style. Lowepro seems to have a good reputation however.

By the way, I ordered it from Sell N Send on eBay. I'll let you know how their service and shipping are in case you might be interested in ordering from them.

And I'll be sure to let you know what I think about the bag itself when it arrives.

Camera Update

Well...

IT'S HERE!! FINALLY!! The new Nikon D90 actually arrived Friday afternoon around 4 pm, but were gone by then. We waited until noon and then had to leave. The camera was delivered to our neighbor and we got it this afternoon when we returned home.

The kit we ordered came with 18-105 VR and 70-300 VR Nikkor lenses. I thought it came with a camera bag but it didn't. Guess I didn't read all of the fine print. :-) I'm thinking I may order the LowePro Slingshot 200 AW for it. I'm still deciding.

Now to charge the battery and start reading the manuals. Tomorrow the fun begins.

Tomorrow, tomorrow

The new Nikon is scheduled to arrive tomorrow per UPS tracking. I am soooo excited.

Hmmm...I wonder what I'll be doing this weekend? Likely taking lots of pictures. :-)

It's Shipped!

My new Nikon D90 camera shipped today. Hooray!!! Now we will have his and her cameras. He gets the D80. I'm laying claim to the D90. :)

I already have a D90 but it's kind of a long story. Short version is that a friend of mine from Twisp picked it up at the Costco in Wenatchee last Friday on his way over to the camper rally but it wasn't the kit Karl wanted. It came with different lenses. It will be going back to Costco next week - we have to wait for the check to clear the bank.

Meanwhile, I ordered the "right" kit and got the email notification that it shipped today. I can't wait for it to arrive.

Skywatch Friday #40 - Three Fingers

What's a person to do after two days without a camera? Karl's been fishing so the Nikon has been with him, the Canon point & shoot is MIA (I think it's buried in Karl's fishing gear), and the Sony was a loaner and has been returned.

I was having withdrawals! To get my fix today, Karl and I took the dogs down to the lake for their daily walk. The sun was really lighting up Three Fingers mountain. Plus it was fairly clear out, even with the clouds heading east towards the mountains.

I'm definitely leaning towards having my own Nikon, either another D80 or a new D90, so that I don't have to worry about not having a camera on hand. Withdrawals aren't pretty!
