On our last trip home from the CDR, the conditions were perfect for some of the most awesome sun dogs I have ever seen! Combine that with the ruggedness of the North Cascades Mountains as backdrops and you'll agree, too. These two formations were taken just minutes apart as we neared Washington Pass.
While I can't guarantee I'll be able to go visiting many others this week, please click on the link above to see what others are sharing this week in Skywatch Friday.

Skywatch Friday - Before the Rainbow
While watching the storms one day, we spotted this rainbow. Meh, no biggie. But what was unique was the downpour between us and the rainbow. Yes, the rainbow was behind the curtain of water moving our way. Now that was kinda cool and unique!

Skywatch Friday - Just Another Day in Seattle
Seattle definitely has been living up to it's reputation lately. Rain, rain and yes, more rain. Our days begin and end with dreary gray skies. But all of that rain is what makes Washington the Evergreen State.
Sylvia @ Sylvia From Over the Hill and I spent some time together last Saturday checking out various parks and sights around Seattle. Mother Nature tried to dampen our spirits and fun, but we thumbed our noses at her and had a good time traipsing around the city. I can't wait until we have a nice dry and sunny day so we can visit some of these wonderful places again.

Skywatch Friday - Nehalem Bay Sunrise
Wow! What a surprise to find out I am today's guest host on Skywatch Friday. Wouldn't you know, it came when I've neglected my blog for an entire week! I think all of the snow last week and over the weekend threw me into a funk where I just wanted to nestle in my warm house and not take many pictures. I did do some bird watching, making sure my little feathered friends had lots of food in the feeder.
So now it's time to get back in the swing of things. And please accept my apologies for not visiting your blog last week.
The awesome Skywatch Team led by Klaus along with Sylvia, Wren, Sandy and Fishing Guy bring us the Skywatch meme each week. Click on the banner below to go see other skies from around the world.
Today's shot is from our trip to Oregon in late December/early January. On our final day, we awoke to a beautiful sunrise. Cold, but spectacular. Ahhh, the memories. :)

Skywatch Friday - Cap Sante Park
Last Saturday, I found a new park in the town of Anacortes, Washington called Cap Sante Park. It is primarily a viewpoint overlooking the marina, the City of Anacortes, March Point, Fidalgo Bay and the Cascades. You almost have a 360° view of the area from the overlook. The park is maintained by the city of Anacortes.
The skies were bright blue on this very windy day. I'll be sure to visit this park again.

Skywatch Friday - Fire in the Floridian Sky
After a stormy day last Monday in Cocoa Beach complete with a tornado watch and heavy downpours, our evening started with this spectacular sunset. Maybe facing the front hotel portico wasn't so bad after all. Our balcony gave us a great viewpoint for observing the blazes of orange and yellow fanning across the western horizon.

SkyWatch Friday - Strange Clouds
Since our views were pretty much non-existent this past weekend due to fog, I'm digging back through my archives. Here is one from July of this year where I spotted some strange cloud formations.

Skywatch Friday - Sunrise
One of the benefits (or downfalls depending on how you look at it) of being at the Okanogan house is no TV. We normally go to bed early and get up early the next morning. Early enough to enjoy the sunrise.
On this particular morning, the sky was brightening and then the sun looked like fire as it crested the ridge.
