World Bird Wednesday - Eagle!

I think this is my best eagle shot so far. Two Saturdays ago I was in the Stillaguamish Valley just driving around looking for birds and saw this handsome fellow on a telephone poll. "STOP!!", I screamed to myself. Good thing there weren't any cars behind me. :) The wind was really blowing that day as you can tell by some of his feathers but he hung in there.

Quit staring at me, Crazy Lady!

That is a fine, very close image of this eagle. I like the crisp detail and his stare! The last time I was close to an eagle, he did a constant checking to see where I was looking around from one side and then the other. He seemed rather brave and didn't fly until we approached within about 25 feet.

We have a couple of local eagles that stay around all year (weird for Nebraska), but I've never gotten close enough to take a photograph. This one is amazing. Well done!

Talk about the right place at the right time. Excellant, Sally. This is a marvelous shot of that elegant bird. We have a pair near us, but haven't seen them in a while. Our creek is frozen, so maybe they are fishing elsewhere.

Sally -- that is a fantastic shot! We have a "local" eagle but I haven't been able to get a good shot. (I"ve done the "stop" thing in the middle of the street quite a few times though == and usually there IS somebody behind us :<....

This is just an absolute gem of a picture -- thanks!

Terrific eagle shot. You got nice feather detail and expression. Those birds always looks so menacing not matter what they may actually have on their minds in the moment. True predators! I love your banner shot. The softness of it really works. I can almost smell the cold, damp snow. I've got plenty here in Maine, but you snow is especially pretty. Nice blog!
