Mellow Yellow Monday #44 - Stand Back!

Yesterday, the new Amtrak station opened up in Stanwood, WA. As I was standing on the platform awaiting the arrival of the train, I couldn't help but notice the bright yellow line with the warning to "Stand Back of Yellow Line". There were actually two bright yellow lines painted on the platform.

I couldn't believe how some people either couldn't read the safety warning or chose to ignore it. The Amtrak workers on site had their work cut out. Let me tell you, when a train comes roaring by as a freight train did while waiting, it almost seemed too close even behind the yellow line.

Regardless, I decided to let this be my re-entry back into the Mellow Yellow Monday meme. I've been away from the blogosphere for the most part for a couple of months and it's time to get back on board.

Warning!

The line is yellow, and that's supposed to mean warning, but still people are careless.

it's a clear sign that people can easily notice, i bet those who didn't noticed have something in their minds and they're not paying attention to the road :-)

Welcome back with a yellow splash.
A visitor this summer told me that only 10 percent of people read signs. This after I told him he couldn't walk his dog on a trail clearly marked "No Dogs". ;-)
Excellent eye for an opportunity.

Most people don't read signs. But they are quick to sue if something goes wrong!

Perfect yellow for Mellow Yellow.

With that sign, it's your fault if you get hit.

Maybe the warning should be Red for Danger! But then you couldn't
enter it a in a Yellow meme!

Welcome back, Sally. And, yes, I can believe it. At the Grand Canyon there are signs tell people not to go past a certain point because of crumbling rock. Do they listen? Nope. Are there lots of tragic and unnecessary death in GC? Yep.

Oh, Excellect picture. Love the double warning.
