Skywatch Friday - Sun Dogs

On our last trip home from the CDR, the conditions were perfect for some of the most awesome sun dogs I have ever seen! Combine that with the ruggedness of the North Cascades Mountains as backdrops and you'll agree, too. These two formations were taken just minutes apart as we neared Washington Pass.

While I can't guarantee I'll be able to go visiting many others this week, please click on the link above to see what others are sharing this week in Skywatch Friday.

Even without the sun dogs these photos are gorgeous, Sally! The sun dogs make them spectacular. :)

I'm lovin' the snowy-mountain-peak shots I'm seeing today. Helps to beat the heat, plus relieve some of the relentless flatness around here. Thanks (I think) for making me feel homesick for the true west--and for contributing a couple of really lovely photos.

My husband and 2 sons went hiking up in the Cascades a few years back. Their pictures were wonderful but this one is pretty awesome. A gorgeous capture. The mountains in WA are just toooooo beautiful. Genie

I always enjoy looking at Sundogs. I have posted quite a few and they always are different. I read in the paper (seattle) that they are rare. Well I do see them quite often---and I don't drink. LOL

You Omak home is looking great specially with the Oxe-eye Daisy all around. MB
