Take a Hike!

I drove down to Enumclaw today to hang out with my sister. While there, she took me out to the old Weyerhaeuser property and we hiked up to a waterfall on Boise Creek.

Boise Creek Falls

Karen said the water level seemed low, but it was still a beautiful waterfall. I could sit all day next to it and listen to the sound of the water. So peaceful!

The trail itself was pretty nice. Not too muddy and well marked. Weyerhaeuser had multiple signs along the trail calling out the various tree species. There were even a couple of question and answer stops along the way.

Answer to the question: Sword fern, lady fern, deer fern, maidenhair fern, licorice fern

Since the property has been sold to Hancock Timber, I don't know if they will continue to maintain the trail. There were a few fallen trees across it that need to see a chainsaw. That would be too bad if it isn't maintained. It's a nice area and Weyerhaeuser put some effort into creating the trail originally.

Overall, it turned out to be a gorgeous afternoon for being outdoors.

Karen also made a killer white turkey chili for dinner. Delicious!!!

Thanks, Sis, for a great afternoon and evening.
