Skywatch Friday #40 - Three Fingers

What's a person to do after two days without a camera? Karl's been fishing so the Nikon has been with him, the Canon point & shoot is MIA (I think it's buried in Karl's fishing gear), and the Sony was a loaner and has been returned.

I was having withdrawals! To get my fix today, Karl and I took the dogs down to the lake for their daily walk. The sun was really lighting up Three Fingers mountain. Plus it was fairly clear out, even with the clouds heading east towards the mountains.

I'm definitely leaning towards having my own Nikon, either another D80 or a new D90, so that I don't have to worry about not having a camera on hand. Withdrawals aren't pretty!

Was that first push of the shutter everything you had missed and hoped for? Was the buzzing of the lens as it focused on your subject music to your ears? Did a breath of relief and ecstasy escape your lips as you looked at the result on the LCD and imagined what it would look like on the PC?

You are not alone. Many of us have been there before.

Looking at these beautiful photos, it looks you may be wonderfully readdicted. I use only a D40, but I'm glad to see that you and your husband are part of the winning Nikon team.

Oh, I forgot to mention. Your link on Skywatch Friday goes to a Mellow Yellow Monday post. You may want to submit a corrected link.

Great photos, as much as I am a mountain gal, I like the boats best.

Oh...that is such a pretty view of the mountain. Great color contrast...Yes, time to get your own camera! I don't have that problem: nobody else in my household is a shutterbug! Enjoy the skies...yours are beautiful even if they're cloudy and gray...

I can totally relate to that camera withdrawal symptoms. At moments like this I'm thinking about buying a camera for my boyfriend so we don't have to share it:/

Great shots, the first one would look great in B&W. I'm from the east side of the state, never heard of Three Fingers. Very pretty though.

Hey Sally... great pics!

Is 3 Fingers just south of Mt Baker? I'm wondering if it's a mountain I can see from Victoria, BC when the skies are clear.
