Camera Critters #64 - Flying Beauty

This critter was hanging out in my garden earlier this week. I would imagine it is some kind of dragonfly, but I honestly don't know. I liked his wings. They were so transparent.

Oh yes, certainly a dragonfly. The wings and size suggest a long-tailed skimmer though I'm as good at identifying dragonflies as I am doing something I'm not good at.

Sally: Brilliant capture of a special critter. This is one I know and you will also remember it. It is a Twelve Spotted Skimmer. You can count the spots on its wings.

Dragonflies--one of my favorites. One type of Dragonfly is our state insect. Cool, huh! MB
