Skywatch Friday #56 - Peaks of the North Cascades

On our trip over to pick up the camper in Okanogan two Fridays ago, we drove through some thunder storms in the North Cascades. In the aftermath of the storms, the peaks of the North Cascade range were crisp and clear in evening light.

We passed through another quick downpour. Upon rounding a bend in the road, we were treated to a spectacular double rainbow although the outer one was much fainter.

I live in such a flat area compared to yours. I'm feeling a bit envious. ;-)

Oh, but I'm not loading them elsewhere. :-) I still need to make a few tweaks to the blog itself, but I do like the larger picture size.

Oh how gorgeous the North Cascades, so rugged yet can be smoothed by a good rain. How special to get a double rainbow.

Sigh I spent the summer in Friday Harbor and every day I longed for clear, haze-free and/or cloud free skies. I got only one -- excellent sunset shot -- of Mount Baker. I would have loved a chance to shoot these! The slanting light is perfect. Lucky you. thanks for sharing!
